Phil - staying very busy with a variety of projects

Phil-Here in Cambodia I have been staying very busy with a variety of projects. The need for plumbing fixes is extensive for many of the great people I have gotten to meet here. I have compiled a list of some of the things I have been able to gift both the Cambodian people with and our own team at the house. In the city of Buffalo, where a good friend of ours named Sambat has a school, I have been very active. I have put in two separate culverts for redirecting heavy rain to prevent flooding. Put in drains for pools that the kids can play in. Helped in the building of a new kindergarten. Went on a swamp adventure to help retrieve a power line. This involved lots of leeches attaching to my legs (40-50 of them), spiders crawling on me, and biting ants as well. Lastly, I have moved lots of material for flood control throughout the roads leading to the school. At our house - Redirecting well water and hooking up city water to our kitchen. New kitchen faucet so we don’t have to practice patience with it dripping all the time. There have been multiple sink/drain repairs throughout the house I’ve worked on, and also spent a good deal of time working on our tuktuk and other motorcycles/mopeds.
Church in Taom- The church in Taom is very isolated and rural with many needs for plumbing. Just starting out, I have been able to run clean city water to the Priests living quarters and I have replaced the kitchen faucet which would drip and the handle could be pulled off accidentally with little effort. Redirecting well water and fixed a water line connection. Also capped off lines where water was no longer needed. I also worked on the kitchen drain and put in several new sink drains in rooms that were all rotted or nonexistent.
Missionaries of charity - I have put in a few valves for their water in the orphanage which helps the sisters so that they can turn water off where children can’t reach because they have a tendency to play with faucets and waste water when the sisters aren’t looking. The sisters also have two bulk tanks that collect rain water from the roof but they were no longer collecting rain, so I fixed the connections on their roof drain to be able to collect rain water, which saves them a good deal of money. Their city water tank would not stop filling so it would overflow and waste water and money, I worked on the apparatus that stops the pumping of water so it wouldn’t overflow again. They also had a kitchen faucet that had problems and caused a lot of frustration for them and was able to fix it as well.
Just as a personal note I would like to mention the gratitude of the Cambodian people for everything I do. No matter how small the fix, they show immense gratitude for my work and thank me over and over. That would not be possible without the donations of everyone back home, so their gratitude is extended to all of you as well!
