“i am the bread of life”

At our Gospel Around the Grill, we proclaimed the ongoing National Eucharistic Revival. It was mentioned by several people that this was foreign to them. They were hearing about it for the first time. I want to offer you some highlights of the Revival. The Committee on Evangelization and Catechesis proposes an exciting journey for us. You can learn about the mission and vision of this Revival on the official website: www.eucharisticrevival.org.

The mission is "To renew the church by enkindling a living relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist". The vision is "To inspire a movement of Catholics across the United States who are healed, converted, formed, and unified by an encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist - and who are then sent out on mission "for the life of the world". The proposal responds to a world that is hurting and in need of healing. The true healing is in Jesus Christ, the Bread of Life, the Flesh given for the life of the world.

Please look into this website and plan to participate in our parish and diocesan efforts of the Revival. The phase of the revival we are in has four pillars. Reinvigorating Worship, Personal Encounter, Robust Faith Formation, and Mission. On a diocesan level, we will have information about our Eucharistic Congress that will take place in conjunction with the Diocese of Crookston in Bemidji. This is scheduled for Pentecost weekend, May 17–19, 2024. The National Eucharist Pilgrimage will follow four routes. The Northern Route, called the Marian Route, will begin near the Headwaters of the Mississippi (just next door) and travel through our diocese to converge with the other three routes in Indianapolis for the National Eucharistic Congress. The last National Eucharistic Congress was 83 years ago.

At the heart of this revival is our acceptance of the Holy Eucharist. Jesus is really, truly, and substantially present in the Eucharist. He is our healing and our life. Let us take every opportunity we can to receive this truth throughout the year. In our faith formation, in our daily adoration, in our Lenten campaigns, etc. Continue to focus on this revival. Take a look at the website. Pray regularly to the Eucharistic Lord. "I am the bread of life" -Jesus.
