Advent Mission Nights
Advent is a special season for the Church. It is the time when the world prepares to celebrate the coming of Christ. One way our parish is seeking to prepare for Jesus’ birth and experience true transformation in this powerful season is by engaging in a program from Ascension. This program is Rejoice! An Advent Pilgrimage into the Heart of Scripture, Year B. This year, we will explore the Sunday Mass readings through daily reflections, prayer, and journaling, with weekly prayer videos presented by Fr. Mark Toups and his friends Sr. Josephine Garrett and Fr. Josh Johnson. We will be hosting Advent Mission Nights on November 30, and December 7, 14, and 21 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the St. Mathias Church Social Hall. Rejoice! is an opportunity for our whole community to enter the season of Advent intentionally, and receive the grace God is waiting to give us in this holy season. Join us for Advent Mission Nights and take full advantage of this transformative experience.
WEEK 4
As we draw near to the culmination of this holy season, the fourth and final week of Advent, we invite you to prepare your hearts to make room for Christ.
In this video, Fr. Mark Toups shares how to be present to all the gifts God wants to give you this week.
As we come together in prayer and community, let us prepare our hearts to welcome Him with open arms.
May the light of Christ's peace shine brightly in your hearts as we await the celebration of His birth.
