About The Events

Come join together as a family in faith at the 2nd annual Run for the Son: Faithful 5K/10K. Run or walk the beautiful Buffalo Hills Trail beginning at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church on Saturday, September 26th, 2026. Professional timed races provide for a competitive event with awards for multiple age groups in Men’s and Women’s divisions. Finisher medals, T-shirt, and swag bag included for all registered participants!
Rooted in Brainerd Catholic’s mission to share the gospel message of healing, hope, and joy in Jesus, this annual event invites all to celebrate fellowship, joy, and connection, inspiring Christians throughout the community.
Not a runner? You can choose to walk or simply come cheer on our participants while enjoying a live broadcast from the Pulse Radio station and support your fellow Christians as we come together for a morning of fun. Food and beverages will be available for both participants and spectators. There will also be a youth 100-yard "Disciple Dash" for kids in grades 1st – 6th.We hope to see you there!

There will be several heats offered for the 100-yard dash, groups will be determined by age. The dash will take place on the lawn near the finish line at 9:15 am. 

There are several sponsorship opportunities including swag, bags, and on-course signage.

Racer swag
All registered participants will receive a registration packet and t-shirt. Early registration ends September 13th. After this date prices will increase and you will not be guaranteed a shirt.
10k and 5k registered participants will receive one, a bella canvas shirt. Disciple Dash shirts are cotton.

Fundraise for the cause
Event proceeds help fund our many growing needs associated with youth and adult faith formation and bring further support and awareness to our many vibrant ministries serving the Brainerd Lakes community and beyond. After you register, you will be given the option to create your own fundraising page. With this page you will have a personal link that you can share with friends and family. Share the message of why this race and organization are important to you and raise some additional money towards your favorite cause. Top fundraiser will receive a prize!

Post Race
Enjoy some music from the Pulse live broadcast along with food and light refreshments after you finish your race. Additional beverages will be available for cash purchase. Tables and seating will be throughout the lawn will allow you hang around while supporting your fellow racers as they cross the finish line. Watch the results posted live for each division, then snap a photo at the backdrop with your crew (or the Bishop!) and cheer on the Disciple Dashers before concluding the morning with the awards ceremony.

Parking is available in St. Andrew's main parking lot. Please refrain from parking on the race course
