Camp Survive 2022

Camp Survive is for middle school students who will complete grades 6, 7, or 8 for the 21/22 school year. This is a 5-day retreat at Big Sandy Camp in McGregor, MN. Camp Survive is led by Father Mike Schmitz as well as many other youth ministers from our diocese.
Throughout the entire time of Camp, we incorporate learning and the practice of many aspects of our faith including Mass, Confession, Adoration, Lectio Divina, various types of prayer, etc., while also spending a lot of time with community with peers in so many incredibly fun activities and also sharing this time as a faith-filled generation.
What are the fun parts? Zip Line, Laser Tag, Knocker Balls, Nerf Wars, Nukem, Swimming, Water Slide, Low Ropes, Boating, Lord of the Rings, Fear Factor, Climbing wall, Gaga Ball, 9-Square, Tube Mania, Petting Zoo, and more!
Cost Per Camper: $399. This fee covers lodging, all meals, snacks, retreat materials, and a t-shirt.
The official registration won't be open until mid-May. Before then, we need to know how many of our students would like to go - and a request for a certain number of spots needs to be made to the diocese.
If you are interested in signing your 6th - 8th grade student up for Camp Survive, please complete this survey so that we can make an accurate request for Camp spots from the diocese. Only those who have completed the survey found below will be given access to the early registration for Camp Survive. If you do not fill out the survey, you will need to wait to register your child until after the general registration opens up. PLEASE complete this survey if you wish to have your student attend Camp Survive.
Filling out the survey does not guarantee a spot at Camp Survive, but by filling out the survey, your student will among those who are given at least the first chance at claiming a spot.
To briefly explain the registration process: I will make a formal request to the diocese of an estimate of how many spots I think we will need for Camp Survive for both weeks. Let's say I request 40 spots. The diocese will look at all of the requests from all of the youth ministers and then allot all of the spots according to how many we ask for and how many there are. I may only receive 30 spots. At that point, I have a random drawing of the students who were signed up on the survey. Those who are chosen will be sent a private link on a day in early May to register for their spot. Once everyone has registered for this first round, the general registration will open for everyone.
