Alice Marie Pietruszewski
Alice Marie Pietruszewski, age 98, formerly of Northeast Minneapolis and near Zimmerman, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Northern Lakes Senior Living in Baxter.
Alice was born on April 29, 1928, in Northeast Minneapolis to Leon and Antonia (Ozga) Pieles. After graduating from high school, she boarded a trolley for work and happened to spot the man who would become the love of her life. Just days later, at a mutual friend’s wedding, Alice shared a dance with Thaddeus “Ted” Pietruszewski. The two later married and spent 70 wonderful years together, building a loving family and a life filled with devotion.
When her children were all in school, Alice began working in the local Catholic school cafeteria, where she enjoyed serving and caring for others. The family treasured countless weekends spent at the lake in Zimmerman, and after retirement, Alice and Ted made it their permanent home. Together they enjoyed traveling, creating memories, and sharing life’s simple joys.
Alice was known for her joyful spirit and loving heart. She adored the color pink, Polish food, and making certain her family always knew how deeply they were loved. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children: John Edward (Patti), David Michael (Sandy), Mary Alice (Mark) Kimball, and Mark (Mary); six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ted.
