Martha Jane “Mickey” Enright Schaefer passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 18, 2026, surrounded by her loving children.
Mickey was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert “Bud” Lyle Schaefer; and her brothers, Jim, Tom, and Jack Enright.
She is survived by her seven loving children: Mark (Debbie) Schaefer, Jim Schaefer, Jan (Gary) Handlos, Maureen (Gary) Gamradt, Jane Schaefer, Margaret Schaefer, and Molly (David) Luke; nine grandchildren, Thomas (Jessie) and Ryan (Katie) Marzano, Christopher (Rachel) and Patrick Handlos, Robert (Rae) and Bryce Schaefer, Marissa (Wade) Manske, Tony (Kayla) Luke, and Magan (Ryan) Born; and 13 great-grandchildren, Thomas, Brooks, Blaire, Isla, Connor, Kaden, Isabelle, Corbin, Dominic, Hannah, Moonee, Wyatt, and two precious baby girls on the way, Baby Girl Schaefer and Baby Girl Handlos.
Mickey's life was woven into the hearts of so many—her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the spouses who became part of her family. Each was touched by her love in different ways and at different times throughout her life. Together, with full hearts and cherished memories, they say goodnight to OUR MOM. A life well lived and a journey that's just begun.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to Mass. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at the church.
