Ruby Lorraine Tautges

Ruby Lorraine Tautges, age 92, of Brainerd passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Good Samaritan- Bethany.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 9, 2024, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., on Thursday at the Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd, with a Prayer Service at 6:45 p.m.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to Mass at the church on Friday.  Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Brainerd.

Ruby was born January 30, 1932, the daughter of Thomas and Lyda (Thompson) Thorson.  She attended Brainerd High School where she met her high school sweetheart, Raymond Tautges.  The couple married and together loving raised nine children.  Ruby was a devoted mother and grandmother who never passed up an opportunity to attend their activities.  She was involved in Girl Scouts and was a Blue Bird Leader.  She had a great sense of humor and was playful at heart – especially when she played cards with her sister, Tillie.  They laughed more than they played. Ruby enjoyed gardening and canning.  She was immensely helpful with her grandchildren and famous for her cinnamon/caramel rolls.  She was deeply devoted to her faith.  Ruby was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, and Adoration and a former Catechism teacher.  Ruby will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Ruby is survived by her children, Theresa Dahl, Cathy Tautges, Ruth (Bradley) Kuhlman, Sue (Bob) Huot, Mary (Peter) Arsenault, Michael “Gus” Tautges, Patty (Jim) Hartman, Bobby (Peggy) Tautges; 26 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; close friend and cousin, LeRoy Thompson and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Lida; husband, Raymond; daughter, Bernadette; and siblings, Tillie Dale, Lillian Estes, Stewart Thorson.

The family wants to express their deep appreciation to the nurses and staff at Good Samaritan Village - Bethany and Good Samaritan Hospice for their attentive and loving care.
