Wanda Huber

Wanda J. (Eaton) Huber, age 78, of Baxter died on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at home with her family by her side.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11AM on Friday, June 7, 2024 at St. Francis Catholic Church, Brainerd.  Visitation will be held from 5-8PM on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church in Brainerd.  Parish prayers will be prayed at 6:30PM Thursday at the funeral home.  Interment will be at St. Thomas of the Pines.

Wanda was born in Crosby, MN to Richard and Ruth (Marsh) Eaton.  She married Ronald Huber on August 29, 1964 at St. James Catholic Church in Aitkin.  The couple raised five children.  Wanda worked hard all her life, she worked for 27 years at the Potlatch Paper Mill, when the mill closed Wanda knew it was time to retire.  Following her retirement, she worked for Just For Kix for few years, until retiring again.  Wanda loved to read, cross-stitch, knit, crochet and spend abundant time with family and friends.  In her spare time, Wanda loved to play cards, and spend time with her many grandchildren and great grandchildren, spoiling them terribly all the time.  She was active in the St. Francis Catholic Church; a member of the St. Agatha Guild, Catholic Christian Women (CCW), Sisters in Christ, Secular Franciscans, and assisted with Mass as a Eucharistic Minister.  Wanda was also a member of the Eagles Club.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Wanda is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Ronald; daughters, Christene (Leonard) Skillings, Sandra (Les) Stenlund, Rebecca (Gary) James, Roseanna (Bob) Keiser; over 16 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; brothers, Dan Luby, and Richard “Dick” Eaton.  She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard; brother, Michael Luby; and step-brother, Ronald Eaton.
