Dennis Berndgen, 74, of Brainerd, passed away at his home on Monday, September 25, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 2, 2023, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd.

BG (Bvt)(Ret) Richard L. Hayes passed away surrounded by his loving wife, Betty, of seventy years and his four children at his home in Brainerd MN after a long struggle with Parkinson’s.

Elizabeth “Betty” Louise Johnson, 87, of Brainerd, passed away on June 18, 2023, comfortably at home surrounded by family. Funeral Services will take place at 11 am on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at St. Francis Catholic Church, in Brainerd, MN. A visitation will take place from 5-7pm on Monday, June 26, 2023, at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church.

Arrangements have been entrusted with the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.

Richard (Dick) H. Breen was born in Niche, North Dakota to James and Agnes Breen on June 17, 1938. He grew up in Hillsboro, North Dakota and attended St. John’s University, where he played basketball and studied political science. After graduation in 1960, he attended the University of Minnesota Law School. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd. Family and friends are invited to gather prior to the service beginning at 9:30 a.m. A luncheon and interment at St. Thomas of the Pines Cemetery to follow.

Miguel Velasco, 96, of Brainerd, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2023, at home with his wife by his side.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 11, 2023, at All Saints Catholic Church in Brainerd.  Family and friends are welcome to gather one hour prior to Mass and to stay for lunch to follow.  A private interment will be held at St. Thomas of the Pines.
