Addie Bradford

Adeline “Addie” Martha Bradford passed away peacefully on November 25, 2024, surrounded by her family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd. There will be a visitation at 10:00 a.m., and a luncheon will follow at Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Baxter. Burial at Baxter City Cemetery will follow lunch.

Addie was born June 7, 1945, to John C. and Adeline Horejsi in Webster, Minnesota. She graduated from Northfield High School in 1963. On June 26, 1965, she married her high school sweetheart, Bob, in Veseli. After moving several times in the early years of their marriage, Addie, Bob and their three small children settled in Baxter in 1973.

Being a mother and raising her children was Addie’s greatest joy in life. She helped to raise others’ children by running a daycare center out of her home for more than 20 years and teaching Sunday School at St. Francis for 10 years.

After many years of looking after little ones, Addie changed careers when she and Bob bought Lakes Area Chem-Dry in May 1994. For 13 years, she answered every phone call, booked every appointment, and loved learning an entirely new set of skills.

There was no better cook in the world than Addie (at least according to her family). Her day was made if someone wanted seconds at a meal or asked for a recipe to a dish she had created out of leftovers. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, gardening, and wintering in Florida for 20 years.

Addie is survived by her husband Bob, children Dan (Tina) and Carla, grandchildren Haley (Jake Olson), Jake (Alix), Max, and Addison, and great-grandchildren Blakely and Milo. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Joe, and son Michael.
