Anne Nielson Obituary Anne M. Nielson, 76, of Nisswa, formerly of Norwood Young America and Alaska, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2025. A celebration of Anne's life will take place with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis Catholic Church on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 11:00. There will be a visitation one hour prior. Following a luncheon, Anne will be interred at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery alongside her beloved husband, John.
Anne was born December 4, 1948 in Glencoe, Minnesota. She was the first born to Donald and Dolores (Dawson) Bohlinger. Anne was raised in Young America and after graduating from high school there, went on to get her Dental Assisting Degree. She worked in the dental field as an assistant, at the front desk and as manager of a large dental clinic.
Anne met John Nielson while she was working as a dental assistant for John's brother, Ralph. They quickly fell in love and were married in September of 1968. They moved to Alaska in the early 1970's and raised their two daughters in a beautiful, small log home surrounded by woods and mountains.
Anne had an incredible work ethic, working full time and also managing to keep up a beautiful home. She always made time to spend with her family as well, playing cribbage, watching movies together, or enjoying fishing and hunting trips with them.
Anne loved to read and had an exceptional mind. She could often be found watching the game show Jeopardy, answering a majority of the questions correctly. She was almost impossible to beat in Trivial Pursuit.
Anne was an incredible wife to John and they had a wonderful 52 years of marriage together. She was constantly by his side, owning a business together and traveling the country with him, representing CZ Firearms. Her dedication and love for him never ceased, and was especially evident as she was John's caregiver while he battled cancer for twelve years. Her patience, selflessness and unconditional love was awe inspiring and a true model to her children and grandchildren.
Anne will be greatly missed by her daughters, Cassie (Tim) Spitzley of Brainerd; Katie (Marlon) Galbadores of Brainerd; and grandchildren Hannah, Noah, Samantha, Sarah and Sabrina. She was preceded in death by her husband John; and her father, Donald Bohlinger. She is survived by her mother, Dolores Bohlinger, sisters Barb, Carol, Eileen and Fran, and brothers Danny and Gerry.
